BROKEN ECHOES

This piece portrays the moments in our life when we cannot change the circumstances of each present moment. Something that can seem broken or unattained, it beholds a transformative experience for growth, for our hearts and spirit. The only option we have is to fully accept and surrender to what happens to our life until the right time comes to experience what once was a wish or a memory.

Broken Echoes

With each choice we make, we are led somewhere new.
Second chances are earned in the choices we make.
Can we appreciate the damages once made?

Mistakes can be made, lessons can be learnt.
In what we choose to forget, and in what we forgive.

New beginnings are created out of clear endings.
And what once was the now, cherished, it will become the past.

So many unknown worlds to explore.
Memories that have sculpted realities.
Realities within which one can lose hope,
and realities that can unearth new scopes.

Tell me, where have you been?
You were in my mind, in my heart.
Left spaces empty to chase the unknown.

To find what?

To find a new hope, a new spark.
I searched all the darkest places that can’t be seen.
And with every step I take, your memory haunts.

Even after time and time has passed,
the time together clings onto me.
I used to dream, to dream of many worlds,
and now, when I close my eyes, I only see you.

That memory engraved in the past, now cherished.
And patiently waiting for this moment, this fleeting
moment of surrendering, to crystallise into the now.

Be careful once I was told, and I didn’t.
I let myself free and embraced life as my guide.
What once was a soft whispering of your love,
slightly broken, it still echoes in my heart.

And now, I have arrived at a new unknown.
Tell me, what is this place?
A sanctuary for the broken echoes.
